1. Match the tongues
Put the lowest outer tongue nearest you. Tap the diagram in Practice to compare sounds, then swap labels here if needed. Pad numbers describe positions, not scale degrees.
2. Make it familiar
Use an overhead photo with the drum centred and filling a square. The note overlay stays interactive.
Using the default RAV Vast photo.
Sound & practice
Changing reference pitch affects synthesized tones. Your recordings play at their original pitch.
3. Hear your own RAV
Optional: record each tongue for a more familiar guide sound. In a quiet room, choose a note, press Record, strike it once when prompted, and let it ring. Each recording stays on this device.
Microphone access is only requested when you choose Record.
A few gentle pointers
Touch, then release. Let your finger bounce away so the tongue can resonate.
Slow is musical. Start at half speed and repeat a small phrase before joining it to the next.
Make room for silence. A long note is one strike. Let the sound carry it.
Hand suggestions are optional starting points. Use the hand and movement that feel comfortable. This app guides your practice; it does not judge physical strikes.
